Wednesday a friend and I went to the university bookstore to purchase our books for this semester. The university has implemented a new system where if you present a picture ID and your student number you can charge your books directly to your financial aid account. This is really nice as you don’t have to worry about having money on hand to get books and then getting a financial aid check a week after classes start.
On the other hand, my friend, who is going into elementary education was able to purchase all of her books for all of her classes for less than the cost of my IS project management book. When all was said and done my books cost roughly twice as much as hers did. What a rip!

How interesting the childhood education is not updated as often as the tech sector? What does this say about our priorities? Especially with the print on demand or digital capabilities, what are we doing still purchasing hard copies of this information any more? Why not current up to the minute pdf files that can be downloaded and charged to your student loans (be careful with how easy this business, I mean school, is making it for you to rack up your "good debt"). Thank you for the perspective, I just purchased a digital copy of "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" on ebay.
I like the streamlined idea...but I must agree with James here, you'd think they could come up with something more tech oriented for you. Alas, tis not to be
