When It Rains It's Poor

Rain in the form of bad news tends to fall all at once it seems. It wasn't more than a few hours ago I was sitting in the apartment of a good friend of mine, talking about his new entertainment center that he built from scratch (Cinder blocks and ply wood, Hey us college kids have to make due with what we have!).

On my way home i gave a friend of mine, Holly a call. I was suppose to have called them back earlier in the evening but since i was busy i had not been able to do so. She informed me that her and her boyfriend were having some relationship type issues and that things were not looking good. After some light hearted words of encouragement she hung up with me to continue chatting with her boyfriend. I hate when good relationships get rocky.

Upon my return to my apartment i greeted my room mate and went to the fridge for a quick snack before bed. I hopped on my laptop to check email and Facebook and took it into my roomie's room to irritate him while he played World of Warcraft. He explained to me that after a long and tedious quest they had finally defeated the final boss. However, when it came to splitting up the loot, one of the party members decided to take a piece of treasure without asking and promptly logged out. Not a very nice thing to do, even if it was in just a game. That sort of behavior reflects badly on the person.

After dealing with that little incident he tabbed out of WoW to check his email. In his inbox was a letter from his boss. You can't imagine what it contained and lets just say it wasn't good news. He was informed, and on no certain terms that he was no longer employed. From the tone of the letter, my room mate concluded that the company must be closing its doors.

It's been a long day. I think we all deserve an extra drink this Friday. Cheers!
